American Ninja Warrior, Rock Climber, and an Incredible Survivor
American Ninja Warrior
Craig was a national finalist in the USA competition “American Ninja Warrior”, as seen on TV’s NBC network. The obstacle competition requires extreme training, focus, and courage. From thousands of hopefuls, in 2017, he was one of the final standing competitors in the Las Vegas national finals.
Rock Climbing
Craig has tackled some of the most prolific technical rock climbs around the globe including El Capitan in Yosemite California, considered the most famous and most difficult climb in the world.
He was born in the Rocky Mountain town of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Craig’s father Ron was an internationally accomplished mountaineer who taught him to climb when he was only 5 years old.
“My father named me Craig because “Craig” is the Gaelic word for “ROCK!”
A Tale of Survival
In 2006, Craig was featured in international news for a rock climbing accident that spanned 18 hours of harrowing self-rescue. While training for the most difficult and famous rock wall in the world, El Capitan in Yosemite California, he was rock climbing in the Black Canyon of western Colorado. He was attempting the 2,000 foot rock face with his cousin and climbing partner Ken.
After a devastating fall that broke Craig’s right leg, all alone, and deep in the canyon, they had no way of calling for help. Aided only by the camaraderie of his cousin, Craig crawled 3 miles for 18 hours through the night on a shattered leg.
Undaunted by the fall, Craig continued climbing immediately after the incident with a cast on his leg. Exactly one year following his accident, Craig and Ken made their pilgrimage to Yosemite Valley California. In 4 days and 3 nights, they reached the 3,000 foot summit of El Capitan and accomplished their dream.
His amazing story was featured on Travel Channel’s TV show “Got Home Alive” where Craig and Ken got to be the actors playing themselves in the re-enactment. Today, Craig gives inspiring presentations on his incredible near-death adventure.
All the details of this gripping story of survival are brought to life on stage when Craig speaks.
