I Will Always Love You

Ah Love… what is life without it? I recently watched the film “Interstellar” (which is AMAZING by the way!) and there’s a quote that’s stuck with me. “Love is the one thing we’re capable of perceiving that transcends the dimensions of time and space.” We can feel love for something in the past. We can also feel love in our thoughts of the future. To go even deeper, I feel that love is the essence at the beginning and ending of all things.

Love is fascinating. I feel it’s a concept that we can only grasp at its true meaning and awesomeness. What I do know is that it is one of the constants in our life experience. I once read that upwards of 80% of songs ever written are about love! 😅 That says something.

The essence of the song “I Will Always Love You”, originally written and recorded by Dolly Parton, is one of bitter-sweet feelings of love. The theme of the lyrics is about parting from a relationship with reverence and respect. These words truly speak to my beliefs and personal life experience.

I’m so proud to say that two of the most important women I was in past relationships with continue to be two of my best friends in the world. I don’t prescribe to the social concept that if a relationship doesn’t work, the person wasn’t “the one“ and should be cast away. If a relationship ends over toxicity or true betrayal, that’s a different story. On the contrary, if a relationship has just run its course and it’s time for it to end, why shouldn’t two people who loved each other so deeply continue to have a respectful love for one another?

My best friend Nick’s says, “Some people are stepping stones, and some people are bridges. Some last for a short time, some last for a long time, but they’re all taking us somewhere.” I LOVE that.

Wherever our unique life paths take us, one thing I know for certain is that every single one of us wants to love and be loved!❤️
